What is WorldSkills?

WorldSkills is the “Olympics of skills” — the world’s largest skills championship, held every two years since 1950. Up to 1,500 competitors from 65+ countries and regions gather in a single arena to compete across ~60 trades, from cybersecurity to cloud, welding to fashion. The 47th edition ran 10–15 September 2024 at Eurexpo, Lyon, in front of more than 250,000 visitors.

Colombia’s SENA has fielded competitors for 15 years. Andrés earned the country’s Cybersecurity seat at the national selection in Barranquilla (July 2024), took it to the world stage in Lyon, and returned to mentor the next generation of competitors.
